Maybe Sinema can use her time to help Arizona?

Kyrsten Sinema is a real nice woman. But she is hands down the biggest fan of taxing and spending in the Arizona Legislator. While she would never take out a gun and demand your wallet she doesn't think twice about writing laws that allow the police thugs that report to the government steal your wallet. OK Kyrsten Sinema never have her police thugs steal everything in your wallet. I'm sure she instructs her police thugs to not take a penny more then half of it!

Maybe Sinema can use her time to help Arizona?

Special for the Republic

There you go again. It's no real surprise that The Arizona Republic continues to print the same drivel from what's left of state legislative Democrat leadership regardless of the outcome of the very recent election ("It's time for GOP to get Arizona out of fiscal crisis," Opinions, Nov. 9).

Despite the fact that Democrats have lost even more seats across Arizona, Rep. Kyrsten Sinema does not bother to offer to sit at the table and contemplate solutions. Instead, she rails against Republicans as she has done for years while leading her own party members off the cliff.

She, of course, not being at risk in her district, has come back with a vengeance and decides to begin the 2012 campaign right away. Sinema argues Republicans have failed, yet the public voted out of office her Democrat colleagues all over the state. Maybe she also believes, like President Obama, that Arizonans just don't know how much the Democrats have done to them. I mean for them.

Shame on those Democrats for allowing her to be the only voice in the media for them at the Legislature. Only a Democrat like Sinema can say we failed when voters overwhelmingly elected Republicans and support our policies across the state.

The voters don't believe we failed. They believe we are solving the state mess she helped create under Gov. Janet Napolitano and the national mess created under Obama - the same Obama who still hasn't signed an appropriations bill this year and has no budget.

Still, Sinema says, "No more blaming the president," even after the federal health-care bill she cheerleaded all across Arizona is about to send our AHCCCS program, Arizona's version of Medicaid, into the abyss as it will cost a billion dollars we don't have.

Hers was another self-serving article by an ideologue who can't even admit how her strategy to "just say no" and her other bad ideas cost her own party. Her letter goes on to speak about her fight and her personal priorities, while the Democrats who followed her advice now sit at home wondering what happened to their own priorities and the priorities of their own constituents.

No one owns Arizona. It belongs to all of us. Perhaps Sinema could find the time to share in its recovery instead of hoping for and coordinating a Republican demise. Whatever happened to that bipartisanship she spoke so much about . . . you know the one Gov. Jan Brewer supported: Proposition 100, a temporary 1-cent-per-dollar increase in the state sales tax, that Sinema and the new Democrat minority leader Chad Campbell voted against?

Tobin is majority leader-elect in the Arizona House and represents Legislative District 1, which includes Camp Verde, Chino Valley, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Jerome, Paulden, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona, Tusayan, Williams and parts of Flagstaff.
